The Managing Director, Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Ms Damilola Ogunbiyi, was suspended indefinitely by the Minister of Power, Engr. Sale Mamman.
She was suspended following an allegation of infractions in the Rural Electrification Agency, the Minister of Power Engr Sale Mamman directed that the Managing Director of the Agency, Ms Damilola Ogunbiyi proceeded on an indefinite suspension with immediate effect. A separate report indicated that she was been victimized by the power minister.
However, President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, named Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad as replacement, to take over as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), after one week, Mrs Damilola Ogunbiyi was suspended.
There was no panel of investigation set up to determine the allegations against Damilola, before making another appointment into her role.
Damilola announced on her LinkedIn page on Wednesday, January 1st 2020, that she has been reabsorbed back by the United Nations, at a top management level.
She wrote: “Today as I start my term as United Nations SRSG for #SaeforALL, Co-Chair of UN-Energy and CEO of only the beginning of a new year but also a new decade, the last one to achieve #SDG7. We have only a decade left to succeed – it is #10to2030”
Allegation was made, not proven, she was axed.
