To whom is given, much is expected. It is a daunted facts that many Nigerians were disappointed with the performance of APC government during the first tenure.
Despite the poor performance of some of the Ministers; there was no cabinet reshuffling for four (4) years of that tenure.
Nigerians have cried for the rejig of Security Chiefs over increasing security challenges in the country, it all fell on deaf ears.
During the first tenure of APC Government, there was no checks and balances, also no performance indicators set for the cabinet members.
Based on the observations raised during the first tenure, G50 Analysts have recommended two approaches for the Next level governance : the first would be to ensure that the incoming Ministers are given targets. The second approach would be annual rotation of cabinet portfolios.
This implies annual reshuffling of the Ministers from one portfolio to the other portfolio. There is an adage that says; “New Wine Tastes Better”. Hence, there’s always vigour and vitality when someone is disposed from one portfolio to the other portfolio.
