Every advanced countries always have seaports dedicated for manufacturing and technological hub.
The only lesson that President Buhari should come back with to Nigeria after Japan’s Conference would be to dedicate Ibaka Deep Seaport as manufacturing and Technological hub.
The truth is that time has come to decongest Lagos Ports by empowering other seaports.
Ibaka Deep Seaport doesn’t require dredging; hence economically positioned.
USA has three seaports dedicated as manufacturing and technical hub.
For Nigeria, Ibaka deep seaport is the most appropriate for this purpose.
The first step would be to develop the seaport to be the longest quay apron in Africa. The advantage of Ibaka deep seaport was its natural depth that does not require dredging.
Methodology – The FG would enter into MOU with advanced countries to shift its manufacturing base to Ibaka deep seaport. From Ibaka deep seaport; goods can be exported to other African countries.
The first and foremost would be Iron and Steel production companies since Ajaokuta Steel industry has failed Nigerians.
Other industries include GM motors manufacturing companies, Computer hardware production companies, Textiles, Telephones and electronics manufacturing companies.
Even Nuclear power plants production and Aeroplanes Accessories will also be produced at Ibaka Deep Seaports.
Ibaka deep seaport would be a world of its own in the areas of manufacturing and productions.
It is complete madness and leadership failures to conceive the idea of purchasing goods in Chinese currency instead of forcing them to establish those factories in Nigeria.
