I don’t really know why we can’t have FOCUSED LEADERS.
It took Egyptian President 30 months to build a gigantic REFINERY from 2014 – 2017.
What’s STOPPING Mele Kyari from inviting the original BUILDERS to revamp the REFINERIES?
It’s not only REVAMPING but increasing the production output by 300% based on the growing population.
IF MELE KYARI IS SINCERE; BETWEEN 2019 & 2020; ALL THE REFINERIES SHOULD HAVE BEEN FULLY BACK TO OPERATIONS.
TO PERFORM TURNAROUND MAINTENANCE (TAM) OF THE REFINERIES IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.
PRESIDENT BUHARI SHOULD MAKE ME THE TASKFORCE CHAIRMAN AND GIVE US 18 MONTHS TO ENSURE THAT ALL THE REFINERIES ARE FUNCTIONING.
AS A MECHANICAL ENGINEER BY PROFESSION; THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TANKFARM AND REFINERY IS JUST THE PROCESS PLANT WHERE CRUDE OIL IS STORED AND PROCESSED.
I HAVE SUPERVISED 27 TANKFARMS BUILT IN NIGERIA FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPORTATION OF REFINED FUEL IN A COUNTRY THAT HAS THE BEST CRUDE OIL IN THE WORLD.
We don’t need Nigerians to repair the REFINERIES. We are WICKED and EGOCENTRIC.
If they want the REFINERIES to work; they should invite original BUILDERS to revamp the REFINERIES and also give them additional 4 years maintenance contracts.
It is pertinent to note that additional 4 years maintenance contracts is very paramount.
We consume approximately 60 million litres of PMS daily.
A standard vessel carries 15, 000MTS which is the same as 20 million litres.
Hence, three vessels daily.
Multiply 60 million by N210 landing costs = N12.6bn daily.
N12.6bn ÷ 360 = $35 million daily EXCHANGE RATES required.
This is just PMS only.
We haven’t talked about AGO, DPK, AVIATION FUEL, LPFO and LUBRICANTS which are byproducts of CRUDE OIL.
IF WE STOPPED IMPORTATION OF REFINED FUEL; OUR ECONOMY WOULD IMPROVE SPORADICALLY.
NIGERIA SHOULD BE THINKING OF EXPORTING REFINED FUEL TO OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRIES.
