While Bill Gates invested $35 million in one year on poor Nigerians; Mark Zuckerberg invested $24 million on the youths in Lagos State for start-up that trains software developers; meanwhile; Diezani Allison Madueke invested $40 million, Taxpayers’ fund on jewellery items .
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation said on Sunday that it spent $250 million dollars on health, education and improving the lives of the poor in Nigeria in 2016.
Mairo Mandara, its Country Representative, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja.
She said that the foundation does not estimate how much will be invested on a nation but based its investments on the needs on ground.
“Five years ago, we spent about $35million; but last year alone, we spent $250 million because the needs were high and we had to spend the money.

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, the philanthropic investment vehicle of Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, and his wife, Priscilla Chan, has led other investors to make a $24 million investment in Andela, a start-up that trains software developers in Africa.
