As an Engineer by profession; the best way to solve a problem is to identify the problem. Once the problem is identified; it’s 90% solved.
Recall that 2017 budget was N7.4 Trillion and FG spent N5.4 Trillion to import refined fuel in a country that has the best CRUDE oil in the WORLD.
The same year, the SENATE PRESIDENT, Bukola Saraki was INTERVIEWED; he openly DECLARED that it’s realistic that 20% of the budget was allocated to the National Assembly .
Please note that 20% of N7.4 Trillion is N1.48 Trillion.
When you remove N5.4 Trillion and N1.48 Trillion from N7.4 Trillion; how much remains for 200 million Nigerians ?
Firstly; I would have loved the President-elect to support Dangote REFINERY to finish his REFINERY project.
Secondly; I would have loved the PRESIDENT-ELECT to privatize the REFINERIES with IMMEDIATE effect.
Texas is a State is USA and has 45 REFINERIES; hence 200 million Nigerians shouldn’t depend on dangote REFINERY alone.
You would recall that in 2015, Nigeria’s debt profile was N6 Trillion and presently stands at N24 Trillion in 2019. FG has already budgeted to borrow N1.7 Trillion from China in 2019.
The debt profile would continue to rise unless Nigeria stopped importation of refined fuel.
A STITCH IN TIME SAVES NINE.
